About IU

InternetUpside.com was started by Paul Lopez and Ryan Burglehaus in October 2008 as a way to chronicle our efforts to make money online. We have a lot of experience with the Internet, site design, hosting, programming, etc, but not a lot of experience directly making money online other than supporting those in the industry over the last 5 years. We’re starting from square one, just like many of our readers.

Seeing all of the success others have enjoyed, we thought it was time to stake a claim to our slice of the virtual world and share with others our journey to untold riches online (a man can dream can’t he?!). Even thought the Internet feels like it’s been around forever, it really is still in it’s infancy. Making money online is even younger with loads of opportunity yet to take advantage of.

Why another blog about how to make money online you might ask? The first reason is a selfish one. In following this niche for a couple of years now, we’ve found that writing about the process a person goes through to accomplish something like making a living online provides a source of motivation and accountability.

Too many people (the estimates are as high as 95%+) collect information about how to make money online, but never act on what they learn. Unfortunately we’re no different. We come across great ideas about how to make money online (or otherwise) all the time, but it’s way too easy to let those things sit dormant and never act on them. Frankly, we need something that will motivate us to take regular action.

The second reason for starting a MMO blog is to share our success and failures with others who, just like us, are trying to create something out of nothing online. We’re just average guys with families who want to enjoy what we do and make a decent living. If we can share some motivation, tips, tricks and other valuable information with others to help them realize their dreams, that’s motivating for us as well.

Hopefully you find some useful information and motivation to try some new things as you read through the posts on our blog.  Please share your experiences, successes, failures and ideas with us along the way.
