Make Money Online Book Review

It’s been quite a while since we have posted on InternetUpside.com. It’s not for a lack of things going on, but more laziness in chronicling them on our blog. Today I thought I’d post up a review of Make Money Online by John Chow and Michael Kwan. Why this? Why today? Well, for a couple of reasons. First, it’s a great book worth reading. Second, it addresses the problem we’ve been facing here that has led to a lack of content since we embarked on the InternetUpside.com journey a couple of years ago. I’ll address both in this short book review.

Make Money Online is the brainchild of John Chow who has written at JohnChow.com for a number of years now. If you don’t already know, John started his blog as a personal space for him to post about things on his mind. About 3 years ago, he decided to see if he could monetize it. He went from making a few hundred bucks a month through Google Adsense (a number many of us would be happy with) to making over $40k a month from the same blog. All in a relatively short amount of time.

The books is a result of his experiences and what he’s learned over the course of that journey. He and Michael detail the story well and provide lots of useful insights into what made the blog successful as well as how to replicate what they’ve done on your own blog in your own niche.

The big question about Make Money Online, though, is How is the content? Is it unique or is it the same old stuff you can get on JohnChow.com? I’ll tell you straight up it’s a bit of both. On the one hand, you could read through years of posts to glean much of the same stuff. On the other, it’s dang handy to have it consolidated in book form. Also, the book provides you with additional tips, insights and tricks you won’t find on the site and represents what John feels is the best of the best of what he’s written. The true things that can help you succeed.

I’m not going to go into chapter reviews and all that jazz. I’ll just tell you, this is worth the $10.85 you’re going to spend on Amazon to get your hands on the book. It’s a quick read and you will DEFINITELY glean some great stuff from it. My only piece of advice is ACT ON IT! Don’t just read, take notes, and file everything or let it sit and collect dust.
